Sticker Maker
Create custom stickers from photos and templates, with an outline, a shadow and text.
Your files never leave your device
Custom stickers are a fun way to react in group chats, celebrate a team win, decorate a laptop or make small gifts for an event. Making one by hand usually means cutting out the subject, adding an outline and saving a transparent image, which takes time in a full photo editor.
The sticker maker below does those steps for you. Add a photo or start from a template, crop it to a shape such as a circle, heart or star, add a thick outline, a soft shadow and a caption, then download a transparent PNG or WebP. Your photo is processed in your browser and stays on your device.
For a clean result, pick a photo where the subject is large, sharp and well lit, and keep captions short so they stay readable when the sticker is small. If you want to print stickers, export the 1024 px PNG and check the edges at full zoom. Use only photos you have the right to share, and ask before you turn a picture of a friend into a sticker.

Turn any photo into a fun, die-cut style sticker in under a minute. This free sticker maker crops your picture into a circle, heart, star or other shape. It adds a thick outline and a soft shadow, puts a caption on top and exports a transparent PNG or WebP that is ready for chats, social posts or printing. Everything happens in your browser, so your photos stay on your device.
Your files never leave your device. This Sticker Maker tool runs 100% in your browser. There are no uploads, no accounts and no watermarks, and there is no tracking inside the tool.
How to make a sticker from a photo
- Add a photo or pick a template. Click Create sticker to choose a photo, drop one on the box or paste it. You can also tap Start from a template to design a text sticker with no photo.
- Choose a shape and style. Pick Circle, Rounded, Square, Star, Heart, Burst, Bubble or Cut-out, then set the outline thickness and colour and switch the drop shadow on or off. Templates apply a full look in one tap.
- Position and clean up. Drag the photo to move it, and use Zoom and Rotate to frame it. To erase a plain background, turn on wand mode and tap the background, or press Erase from corners.
- Add text and export. Type a caption, pick a font, position and colour, then download a transparent PNG or WebP at 512 or 1024 pixels.
Everything you can do
Private and free
Stickers are often made from personal photos: friends, kids, pets, inside jokes. Many sticker apps upload those pictures to a server for processing. This one doesn’t. The tool is a single piece of code on this page that draws your sticker on a canvas in your browser. The shapes, outlines, templates, text and even the background eraser all run locally, and the finished file is saved straight to your device. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many stickers you make.
Sticker sizes and formats explained
| Export | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| WebP 512 | WhatsApp and other messaging apps | Quality is lowered automatically to stay under 100 KB where possible |
| PNG 512 | Telegram, Discord, Slack emoji-style stickers | Lossless with full transparency |
| PNG 1024 | Printing, social posts, design work | Highest detail, larger file |
| WebP 1024 | Websites and apps that accept WebP | Much smaller than PNG at the same size |
Every export keeps a transparent safety margin around the sticker (16 px at 512, 32 px at 1024), which matches the margin WhatsApp recommends and stops outlines or shadows from being clipped. Transparency is preserved in both PNG and WebP. If your browser cannot create WebP files (some older Safari versions), the WebP buttons are disabled and PNG works everywhere.
How the outline effect works
A good sticker outline follows the exact silhouette of the design, not just a box around it. The tool takes the finished shape (photo, text and all) and stamps a solid-coloured copy of it many times in a ring around the original. That builds a smooth border of the thickness you choose, the same idea as the “stroke” effect in design apps. Text gets its own dark or light edge first, and then sits inside the outline, so captions stay readable on any background.
Tips for great stickers
- Start with a clear subject. Faces, pets and objects shot against a plain wall or sky give the best results, especially with the Cut-out shape.
- Use the wand in small steps. Begin with a tolerance of 20–35 and tap several background areas. Raise the tolerance only if the background is uneven, and use Undo if it eats into your subject.
- Keep captions short. One to three words, like “LOL”, “Thank you!” or “On my way”, stay large and readable at chat size.
- White outline for dark chats, dark outline for light ones. A thick white border is the classic die-cut look and stands out on most backgrounds.
- Check it small. Zoom out on your phone to see how the sticker looks at real chat size before exporting.
Limits
The background eraser is a colour-based magic wand, not AI cut-out, so it cannot separate a person from a busy street scene. The tool makes still stickers (no animation), and fonts come from your device, so the same font style can look slightly different on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android.
Frequently asked questions
Is the sticker maker free?
Yes. It is free, with no account and no watermark on your stickers.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything, including the background eraser, runs in your browser on your own device. Your photos are never sent to a server.
Can I use these stickers in WhatsApp?
The “WebP 512” export follows the format WhatsApp’s sticker guidelines describe for static stickers: 512 × 512 pixels, WebP, under 100 KB, with a transparent margin. How you add a custom sticker depends on your app: WhatsApp on the web and desktop lets you upload an image as a sticker, and on phones you can use a sticker-pack app.
What size should I export?
Use 512 px for messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram, which display stickers at that size. Use 1024 px PNG for printing small vinyl stickers, labels or for social media posts where you want extra sharpness.
How does the background remover work?
It is a “magic wand”. Tap a colour and the tool erases all the connected pixels of a similar colour. The Tolerance slider controls how similar they must be. It works best on plain or studio backgrounds; it is not AI, so busy backgrounds need several taps or a different photo.
Why is my exported sticker transparent around the edges?
Stickers are exported as transparent PNG or WebP, so only the sticker shape and its outline are visible. The checkerboard in the preview shows the transparent parts.
Can I print these stickers?
Yes. Export the 1024 px PNG, which prints sharply at around 8–9 cm (about 3.4 in) at 300 dpi. The thick outline acts as a natural cut line for die-cut sticker paper.
