Editorial Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

WorldScope publishes news summaries and explainers on world events, sports, technology, entertainment and business. This page explains how we choose, source, check and correct what we publish.

Who is responsible for our content

WorldScope's founder and editor is Abdullah Al-Janoubi, based in Riyadh. He writes or edits every article, makes the final decision on what is published, and is responsible for applying this policy, including corrections. Articles carry his byline and link to his profile on our About Us page.

Our standards

  • Accuracy first. We aim to be right before being fast. If a fact cannot be checked, we do not publish it as fact.
  • Clear attribution. Every key claim is tied to a named source, such as a news agency, an official statement, a court or government document, or a direct quote.
  • News and opinion are kept apart. Analysis or commentary is labelled as such. News articles describe what happened and what sources say.
  • Independence. Advertising does not influence what we cover or how we cover it. We do not accept payment for news coverage.

Sourcing standards

  • We prefer primary sources: official statements, filings, data, and on-the-record comments.
  • We rely on established news organizations and wire services for reporting we did not do ourselves, and we link to them in a "Sources" section at the end of each article.
  • Claims from social media are only reported when the account is verified or the claim is confirmed by another reliable source, and they are attributed clearly (for example, "posted on X").
  • Unconfirmed reports and rumours, such as transfer talk, are labelled as reports and are not presented as confirmed.
  • We do not copy other publishers' articles. We summarize in our own words, quote briefly with credit, and link to the original.
  • Images are our own, used with permission, or freely licensed (for example from Wikimedia Commons) and credited with the author and license.

Corrections

When we make a mistake, we fix it promptly and openly:

  • Factual errors are corrected in the article, and a note is added at the bottom stating what was changed and the date of the change.
  • Small fixes that do not change the meaning, such as spelling or formatting, may be made without a note.
  • If an article is found to be fundamentally wrong, we will update it with a clear notice or remove it and explain why.

Report an error

If you see an error, please tell us through our Contact Us page or send a message on X to @worldscope_now. Please include the article link and what you believe is wrong. We review every request.

Use of AI tools

WorldScope uses AI tools to help with research and first drafts. Every article is reviewed by our editor, Abdullah Al-Janoubi, who checks names, numbers, dates and quotes against the linked sources before publishing. We never publish invented quotes, and we do not use AI to generate images of real people or real events. Each article lists its sources so readers can verify the facts themselves.
