When does El Clásico kick off?

Barcelona host Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday 25 October 2026. LaLiga lists the kick-off at 21:00 local time in Barcelona, which is 23:00 in Riyadh and across Saudi Arabia. Spain turns its clocks back one hour early on Sunday morning, so the game starts at 20:00 GMT, not 19:00 as it would have in summer time. What is at stake

Barcelona lead LaLiga with 27 points from nine matches, a perfect record so far. Atlético Madrid are second on 22 and Real Madrid third on 21, so a home win would put Hansi Flick's side nine points clear of Madrid after ten rounds, while a Madrid win would cut the gap to three. Barcelona arrive on the back of their first setback of the season, a 4-2 Champions League defeat at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, after league wins over Sevilla (3-1), Getafe (3-0) and Real Betis (5-2). Real Madrid, coached by José Mourinho, have won four of their last five, including 4-1 wins over Sevilla and RB Leipzig this month; their only defeat in that run was 2-1 at Atlético in September.

Madrid are without Vinícius Júnior, who is serving a four-match LaLiga suspension. BBC Sport expects Yan Diomande, who has started five of Madrid's last six games, to take the left-sided role, with Endrick and Carlos Espí as options from the bench behind Kylian Mbappé.

Head-to-head

Barcelona have won four of the last five meetings:

  • 10 May 2026, LaLiga: Barcelona 2-0 Real Madrid
  • 11 Jan 2026, Spanish Super Cup final: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid
  • 26 Oct 2025, LaLiga: Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona
  • 11 May 2025, LaLiga: Barcelona 4-3 Real Madrid
  • 26 Apr 2025, Copa del Rey final: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid (after extra time)

Over the whole history of the fixture, LaLiga counts 264 official meetings since 1902, with 106 wins each and 52 draws. In the league alone, Real Madrid lead 80 wins to 77, with 35 draws, from 192 games. The first league Clásico was played on 17 February 1929 at Les Corts, and Lionel Messi remains the fixture's record scorer with 26 goals.
