First plays second in Dammam tonight. Brendan Rodgers' Al-Qadsiah, a First Division club three years ago, host Simone Inzaghi's Al-Hilal on Friday, 23 October 2026, with top spot in the Saudi Pro League at stake. Kickoff is 9:00 PM in Riyadh, which is 18:00 GMT and 2:00 PM ET.
This is a preview: as of late Friday afternoon Riyadh time, the match has not kicked off. On paper the maths is simple. Al-Qadsiah lead with 25 points from 10 games. Al-Hilal are one point behind on 24 and have a game in hand. If Hilal win, they go above their hosts. A draw or a home win keeps Qadsiah ahead of them.
Key points
- Al-Qadsiah vs Al-Hilal kicks off at 9:00 PM Riyadh time (18:00 GMT, 7:00 PM UK, 2:00 PM ET) at Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.

- Al-Hilal have the best attack in the league so far, with 27 goals scored and 7 conceded.

- Both league meetings last season finished 2-2.

Kickoff time, venue and where to watch
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation's official calendar lists the match for 21:00 local time at Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam. That converts to 18:00 GMT. Britain is still on summer time until Sunday, so the UK kickoff is 7:00 PM, and on the US East Coast it is 2:00 PM. It is part of matchweek 11 of the Roshn Saudi League. Al-Nassr, also in the title race, played away at Al-Faisaly earlier on Friday, so the top of the table could look different by the time the teams walk out.
For viewers in the United States, FotMob's TV listings show the match on FOX Soccer Plus, FOX Deportes and Fubo. Broadcasters vary by country, so check your local provider before kickoff.
Form and the table: two very different title stories
Al-Qadsiah's rise is the story of the season. The club was in the Saudi First Division three years ago. It finished fourth last season, and Al Arabiya reports that it is now chasing a first top-flight title. Rodgers, the former Liverpool, Leicester City and Celtic manager, was appointed in December 2025. According to The National, Tuesday's win took him to 26 league wins with the club, level with the record set by his predecessor Michel. A win tonight would make that record his alone
.
That win was nervy. Qadsiah were held for more than 90 minutes at Al-Taawoun until Reijnders, the summer signing from Manchester City, converted Christopher Bonsu Baah's pass in the sixth minute of stoppage time. The league's English account points out that the Dutch midfielder has five Saudi Pro League goals in eight games. That equals his Premier League total from 28 matches at City.
Al-Hilal's numbers are even more impressive. They have won eight of their nine league games, scored 27 and conceded just 7. Inzaghi, the former Inter Milan coach, now has a front line Premier League fans will recognise. England striker Ollie Watkins left Unai Emery's Aston Villa for Riyadh in a reported £51m deal, and BBC Sport describes him as Villa's record Premier League scorer. Martinelli arrived from Arsenal for £60m, and winger Crysencio Summerville came from West Ham. Those three started Monday's 1-0 win over Al-Hazem. Martinelli headed in Mohammed Mahzari's cross in the 89th minute after Watkins had a goal ruled out for offside by VAR.
Head-to-head, team news and key players
Qadsiah have shown they are not afraid of Hilal. They won 2-1 at home in January 2025, then lost 2-0 in Riyadh that May. Both league meetings last season ended 2-2: in September 2025 and again in Dammam in January 2026.
On team news, Goal reports, citing the Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah, that Spain international Nacho is expected to miss a fourth straight match with an ankle problem and will have a fitness test on Friday. For Hilal, Salem Al-Dawsari came off the bench late against Al-Hazem after returning from knee and foot injuries, according to Goal. It is not yet clear whether he will start. Hilal's starting XI against Al-Hazem also included goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, Kalidou Koulibaly, Theo Hernández, Rúben Neves and Sergej Milinković-Savić.
Rodgers expects a quality game. "We are playing against a very good team, but I also think Hilal will know that we are a good team. So it should be a really, really good game of football," he said in a video posted by Al-Qadsiah's official English account.
Why it matters
Al-Hilal have won a record 21 Saudi league titles. A club that was outside the top flight three years ago is now the one standing between them and first place. If Qadsiah win, it is more than three points. It would show that a club built on smart investment and Rodgers' coaching can beat one of Asia's most famous clubs. If Hilal win, they go top with a game still in hand, because their postponed match against Al-Riyadh is now set for 19 December, according to The National.
For fans abroad, the match is also a check on the summer's big moves. Watkins, Martinelli, Summerville and Reijnders all moved from the Premier League clubs this year. Tonight shows how that talent looks in a real Saudi title race. It also matters for Al-Nassr, the other side of the race, after a week in which Cristiano Ronaldo was handed a 30-day suspension by the Portuguese federation.
The fixtures keep coming. Qadsiah host Qatar's Al Sadd in the AFC Champions League Elite a few days later, so Rodgers may need to rotate his squad.
