This Cookie Policy explains how WorldScope uses cookies and similar technologies. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They help the site work, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. Some are set by us and some by third parties.
Cookies used on this site
- Essential cookies. This site runs on Google's Blogger platform, which may set cookies needed for the site to load, stay secure and remember basic settings.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense). Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
- Analytics. We use Blogger's built-in statistics and may use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how visitors find the site. This information is aggregated.
Browser storage used by WorldScope
To keep pages fast, our own scripts save a few small items in your browser. They contain no personal information and are not shared with anyone.
| Name | Type | What it stores | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| wsGate2 | Local storage | Which site sections currently have articles, so empty sections stay hidden | Refreshed every 6 hours |
| wsCx:… | Local storage | The latest crypto prices shown on Crypto pages | Reused for 90 seconds, then replaced by fresh prices |
| wsS:… | Session storage | The latest football scores and fixtures | Reused for 60 seconds; deleted when you close the tab |
The world clock and the "Latest" headline ticker store nothing.
Live data services
Scores (TheSportsDB) and crypto prices (CoinGecko, CoinPaprika) are loaded by your browser directly from those providers, only on pages that show them. We do not ask these providers to set cookies, but they receive your IP address as part of the request. Their own policies apply.
Your choices
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland may be shown a consent message where they can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the site works.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
